Where in the house should I place my wood stove to heat my house efficiently?

I've never used a wood stove and I bought one yesterday and I'm waiting to get the chimney stove pipes shipped to me since the stores around here didn't have any in stock.

I'm trying to figure out where I should place my new wood stove so that it will heat my house effectively?

I have a 1,500 sqft house with a dining room right off the living room and I'm wondering should I place the wood stove in the corner of the living room or should I place the wood stove in the dining room instead?

I live alone and don't really use the dining room so I'm thinking the dining room would be a good place to put the wood stove to keep space free in the living room.

But I spend more of my time in the living room. Will the heat transfer from the dining room to the living room without problems?

Since you have an unused dining room I would recommend placing the wood stove in the dining room.

The heat should radiate really good into your living room and other areas.
