How to remove the broken nipple from a shower arm?

I was changing a corroded shower arm this morning and the shower arm broke off leaving part of the shower arm "The nipple" inside the wall.

How can I remove this broke part of the shower arm without ripping into the wall and replacing the elbow inside the wall?

Homedepot or other hardware stores should sell a shower nipple extractor tool set for pretty cheap.

It will work for removing other broken pipe nipples as well. You place the tool inside the broken nipple and then when you start to back it out it will bite into the broken nipple and extract it.
