I hate Family Gatherings

Question

As much as I love my family, I hate family gatherings. I usually stay in my room and hope nobody tries to come in and talk to me. 

I try to at least say hi to every one that comes but sometimes it just gets so stressful. Like if everyone comes one at a time I usually make a small conversation and then go back to my room but if there's more then 4 people i that I haven't spoken to yet, I just stay in my room because it gets really awkward greeting a lot of people at once with nothing to talk about.

You probably have social anxiety where you don't like to be around a lot of people.

It's okay as you're not alone. There's many, many others out there with the same anxiety.
