How do you get your toddler to poop in the potty?

My toddler will only pee in the potty but refuses to poop in the toilet? He will only poop in a diaper and not the toilet.

Never force your child to poop on the potty.
Some toddlers have a fear of pooping anywhere else than there diaper. So it can take some time for your toddler to get used to the idea of pooping in the toilet instead of using his/her diaper for pooping.

Your toddler may also have a fear of losing a part of themselves. That part would be the poop as silly as it sounds.

Hold off on the flushing too as some toddlers hate the sound of a toilet flushing and get scared.

If your toddler still doesn't want to poop in the toilet give it a break but don't put diapers back on them.

Keep your toddler in underwear and they might have accidents in their pants but they might decide that it doesn't feel good to have poop in their underpants.

Teach them to help clean up the mess in their underwear. This usually helps motivates toddlers to poop in the potty.

Don't worry though your toddler will eventually poop in the toilet.
