How does having a cat in your home prevent a heart attack?

I remember someone telling a few years ago that having a cat in your home can prevent you from having a heart attack?

How does a cat prevent a person from having a heart attack? I never understood that.

The way I heard it that a cat prevents a heart attack in person is the cat reduces a persons stress.

Petting a cat and sitting with a cat is very relaxing and is supposed to reduce stress in people and stress is a cause of heart attacks.

That's what I've heard.
