Where do flies and other bugs go in the winter?

When it was warmer today I had flies flying around in my house. Now that's it turning a bit cooler tonight in the 50's the flies have seemed to go away.

Why do flies only want to come out during warm weather and bug us? Why aren't the flies and other bugs out during the colder and cooler weather?

That's the only thing I love about cold weather is the bugs aren't around.

Flies are still around but are basically hibernating in places such as your walls and other tiny crevices that you don't see.

They then come out in the warm weather again.

So the flies are still alive and around you but you just don't see them because the flies are trying to keep warm.
