As long as you keep the electric space heater at least 3 feet away from anything flammable on all sides and you plug the space heater directly into a good outlet then it can be safe.
If your plug on the space heater fits loosely in your electrical outlet then get or have your electrical outlet changed out with a new one.
Electric space heaters draw a lot of electricity and it's normal for the electrical plug to get a little warm to the touch.
But if the plug gets too hot to touch then you should unplug it as it's unsafe and could cause a fire.
Most causes of your electrical plug getting hot is due to a loose connection. The plug must fit tight in the electrical outlet.
