By the supreme court drivers license checkpoints would be considered illegal since the supreme court says that you don't need a drivers license to drive in your own personal vehicle.

The only time you legally need a drivers license is when driving commercially.

But it's not worth explaining to a cop and dealing with all the crap that you have to go through so although I'm not required to have a drivers license I do so just to avoid any time wasting trouble with the police.

I can just show my drivers license and be on my way.

Plus I need my drivers license to prove identity for other things as well.
