How to soundproof a room?

I want to create a recording studio room in my house but I need to soundproof it so the neighbors won't hear much if anything of my music so I won't disturb them.

Plus I need to soundproof the room so I don't get any outside noise interfering with my recordings.

What is the best way or how do you go about soundproofing a room?

Use some acoustical calk to seal any open joints around the room you want to soundproof.

Use foam gaskets to seal up around any electrical or other outlets in your room. This will also seal out any air leaks from the cold weather or the hot weather and can help you save some energy.

Add foam padding to the inside of your walls and then drywall over the foam insulation or padding if you want or just paint the foam insulation.
