Why is my dishwasher not draining the water and soap out completely?

I put a load of dishes in the dishwasher this morning and it went through all the wash cycles but the dishwasher still has water in it and not draining the water and soap completely.

The screen where the water drains out might be clogged with food particles or even the drain line could be partially clogged.

This could prevent the water in your dishwasher from draining out completely.
