When does the cold weather rule take effect this year?

The cold weather rule is a regulation and law that prevents electric and gas utility companies from shutting off a customers electric or gas service during winter when they become behind on payments.

The cold weather rule takes effect on November 1st and ends on March 31st

The customer needs to make payment arrangements though with the utility to keep the bills from getting too far behind.

You also should be trying to pay as much as you possible can otherwise when you get shut off after winter is over you'll have a huge bill that you can't get caught up on.
