Hard to give an exact answer but Americans recycle and process over 80 million Tons of Steel per year.
Add to that all other metals such as copper, Aluminum, Brass, and stainless steel the number of tons of metal recycled is probably close to if not over 500 million tons of metal recycled each year.
That's a lot of metal recycled.
