If you're unable to pay on a medical bill do the medical bills get sent to collection agencies and will not paying off the medical bills lower my credit score?

Medical bills that are unpaid are definitely sent to collections although I believe they shouldn't be.

So yes the medical bills will affect your credit score if they're left unpaid and sent to collections.

But unless you're rich and have health insurance that covers most of it then it's impossible to pay off the medical bills in full.

Some medical bills cost more than some peoples homes.
