When can I start growing tomatoes indoors?

I want to start growing tomatoes but now that we're getting near fall and winter it's too late to grow them outside.

If I plant some tomato seeds indoors will they continue to grow indoors during the winter months and be ready to plant outside next spring?

You should be able to grow tomatoes indoors at anytime. Make sure they get plenty of sunlight near the window of your house or garage.

If it's not freezing out and the sun is out you can put them outside in the sunshine for awhile.

Once winter is over and the frost is gone usually around May you can start them outside.
