How much jail time will someone get for Felony Animal Cruelty?

I read on a news website that a man got in trouble for shooting a cat with a BB Gun and the cat later died.

The man was ordered to stand trial for the Felony Animal Cruelty after he shot the cat with the BB gun when it came onto his property.

Will this guy get Jail time and if so how much jail time will he get?

Never heard of it being a Felony to abuse an animal. Most I've heard of anyone serving jail time for some animal abuse is a year or less in jail.

Unless the laws have changed.

He'll most likely either get a year in jail or just pay a fine and be on probation.
