How can I get rid of some old appliances?

I have some appliances sitting in my garage that I need to dispose of.

There's a refrigerator,washing machine and dryer and electric stove.

How can I get rid of these appliances? The landfill won't take them.

I'd be willing to pay to get rid of them if I have too but I need them out of my garage soon.

You can take a picture of the appliances you have and post an ad on craigslist saying that you have some free scrap metal to give away.

Someone might be near you that will haul these off for free. Since you're willing to pay them to remove the appliance you could go ahead and say that you'd be willing to pay them some money to come and get the scrap metal.

Or if you have a scrap yard nearby and you have a pickup or trailer you can load them up and haul them into the scrap metal yard yourself.

You can make some money although it won't be much and most likely the fridge will need to have the freon removed.
