How can I get urine out of mattress?

My 7 year old son wets the bed and although he wears pull ups for the bed wetting the pull ups sometimes leak and he has gotten urine in his mattress and it's smelling awful.

How can I get the urine completely out of the mattress?

Walmart sells a portable spot cleaner that you can put some cleaning solution in and it will suck up the urine from the mattress and you can use it on other furniture as well.

I have one that I bought for $79.00 and it works really good at cleaning my furniture and I sometimes spot clean carpet with it if there's a small spill on my carpet.
