How much money can you make scrapping metal?

I'm about to get laid off my job in a few months and need another way to earn income while searching for a new job.

I was thinking of finding and scrapping metal to earn some money. But I'm wondering if I can make enough to survive a few months or a year without a full time job?

If you scrap metal how much do you usually make per month or per day doing this?

I scrap metal on the side for extra income.

I don't make all that much but I make enough to get by.

You have to work hard at it to earn any good money. Break the scrap metal down as much as you can to maximize your profits on the scrap metal.

If I work hard at it I can make $400.00 per month or more. But you need a lot of scrap metal to make a consistent income.
