Although you might not have to do maintenance for the 100,000 miles of the Honda cars life. I'd still do the maintenance to ensure the long life of the car.

I'd rather notice a problem sooner than later.

I don't own a Honda car but I always change my oil at 2,000 miles instead of the recommended 3,000 miles. Getting an oil change to ensure my engines has clean oil is cheaper than buying a new engine or car.
