Yes older blog posts can rank better in googles search results.
I have a 5 year old blog posts that is ranking better today than it was when first published.
Fresh content is good too though as it shows your website is still active but if your blog posts are evergreen then the older the post gets the more traffic you might get from that old blog post years down the road.
