Why is my window air conditioner not cooling good enough? I have a 4 year old window air conditioner that was working fine and cooling good until today.

I've noticed the air that comes out of the window air conditioner is not as cold as it was before?

Why is my window air conditioner not cooling correctly?

When an air conditioner stops cooling as good it usually means the evaporator coil is frozen over.

This usually happens because the air conditioner filter get's dirty and restricts the airflow to the air conditioner.

The evaporator coil could also be dirty and need cleaned. If a window air conditioner freezes you should shut it off and let it thaw out then clean the filter and evaporator coil.

If it doesn't fix the problem then your refrigerant could have leaked out but that's less likely. It's more likely your evaporator coil and filter is just clogged.
