My central air conditioner is 10 years old and I've been seeing an advertisement on tv saying we should replace our central air conditioners if they're 10 years old or older and we'd save money on our electricity cost?

My air conditioner works fine and my monthly electric bill for the air conditioner runs around $180.00 per month.

Would I save money by having the 10 year old central air conditioner replaced with a new one?

If your central air conditioner is still working fine then I wouldn't worry about changing it out just to save money. It will take another 10 years to see the payback on the cost of the new central ac and installation.

No sense in replacing the air conditioner if it still works fine.

You're not gonna have much lower of an electric bill if you replace the air conditioner.
