Is it safe to go outside during an excessive heat warning?

The weather out here today is 110 F and we're under an excessive heat warning today. The weather channel is warning us to stay inside in an air conditioned place.

I've been staying inside most of the day and I'm getting sick of it and getting cabin fever. Is it safe for someone to go outside for at least an hour in this heat?

It's not safe to stay out there all day in it. But it's okay to step outside for an hour at a time.
Try to sit under or stand under a shade tree.
You could also spray yourself down with some water while your out there.

Walmart sells a rag you can freeze and put around your neck to help keep you cool too.

You don't have to stay inside all day during the heat wave. Many people do get outside in it for awhile.

Just be careful and drink plenty of fluids. If you start feeling to hot then come back inside the house to cool off.

I'm going outside too in a few minutes just to get some fresh air. I've been inside all day since I've gotten up.

I get stir crazy too being cooped up inside.

When under an excessive heat warning you should avoid the heat as much as possible but it's okay to step outside in the heat for awhile.

Just make sure you don't stay outside too often though.
