It's gonna be getting cold soon and I am probably gonna be getting behind in my electric bill and wondering if I do get behind in my high winter electric bills will my power get shut off or will it stay on due to the cold weather rule?
I've never been behind on my bills but due my job cutting back hours I may not be able to pay my entire electric bill on time.

The cold weather rule prevents your utility companies from shutting off power or natural gas to your home from November 1st to March 1st.

Always try to pay some on the bill though as it will get bigger and bigger and be harder to pay off when the cold weather rule ends.

Also contact your utility company to work out a payment arrangement. They can usually set you up on a budget billing plan where you'll pay the same amount every month.
