To get the balance on your credit card paid down it's best to stop using the card. At least until you can pay it off.
If you have too, sell some stuff you don't need and use the funds to pay on your credit card.
Always try to pay more than the minimum payment as paying the minimum payment usually only pays the interest part and you'll never get your credit card paid off.
Only credit cards in emergencies or when you know you can pay them off. Credit cards can destroy your credit rating if used incorrectly.
