Having Social Anxiety without the internet?

I have severe social anxiety which causes me to isolate myself from the world. I hate coming into contact face to face with anybody especially outside my family.

I keep myself shut in the house most of the time and only go out when I really need to.

Without the internet I'd be so bored out of my mind and probably would've committed suicide by now.

TV only keeps me busy and occupied for so long until I get bored it it and sometimes there's nothing interesting on.

There's nothing else for me to do outside my house anyway even if I did go outside.

There's no shops or other stores around and the park is so busy around here and they don't want you there unless you're with your kids.

If you have social anxiety do you think the internet keeps you sane?

I have social anxiety too and I'd be lost without the internet. I don't do too much myself when I'm not at work and usually get on the internet until I can find something else to do.

Internet is both a godsend and a not so great thing when it comes to social anxiety.

With the internet you can talk to people online and not have to face them. But it would help someone overcome their social anxiety if we'd actually try and get out and talk to people offline.
