How can I get to sleep fast without sleeping pills?
I have insomnia and my brain just won't shut off some nights and I feel like I only
get 2 or 3 hours of sleep per night and I feel really drained during the day and
constantly yawning.

I'm never fully awake and just today I was driving down an alley and almost ran
into a building because I wasn't paying attention and turned the steering wheel
towards the building thinking I was ready to turn down the road but the road wasn't
for another 4 feet?

I really need to get my sleep and I have to drive. I've tried sleeping pills and I
feel like I slept okay and got enough sleep but I still am drowsy during the day?

My eyelids still feel heavy and I can't keep them open when taking sleeping pills?

Are there any sleeping pills I can take that don't leave me drowsy during the day?

You should avoid driving if you're feeling tired.

Although I hate sleeping pills I do have to sometimes take them myself when other things I try don't work.

But here are a few things you can try to get to sleep without sleeping pills.

Avoid Caffeine

You should avoid anything containing Caffeine such as coffee, soda etc about 3 hours before bed.
Caffeine keeps people awake so it should be avoided.

Avoid electronics before bed.

You should try to shut off your electronics an hour before bed and then try reading a book or doing something else.

The light from electronic screens has been known to mess with our sleep cycles.

Try some warm milk.

I'm not sure what it is. But if I drink warm milk before bed it sometimes puts me to sleep.
