The things that use the most electricity in your home are central air conditioner, electric furnace, electric water heaters, window air conditioners and clothes dryers.

Other things that use the most electricity in your home are washing machines, heat pumps, water pumps and space heaters.

Those small space heaters can use up to 1,500 watts of electricity per hour so they're only good for supplemental heating since they put out very little heat for the amount of electricity they use.

Trying to heat your home solely with electric space heaters can raise your electric bill to $400.00 to $500.00 per month or more and you'll still be freezing cold.

It's much cheaper to use central heating to heat your home or even a wood stove for the amount of heat you'll get.

Central heating and wood stoves put out a lot more heat than electric space heaters do and it's much cheaper or at least comparable in cost.
