Since you're inside a house surrounded by four walls a roof and a floor the lightning cannot get to you through those barriers and strike you.

So you're safe from lightning strikes inside your house as long as you don't touch anything conductive such as metal which the lightning can travel through.

Lightning can also travel through wires and can strike and fry electronics so unplug any electronics that you don't need in use during the lightning storm.

Although rare it is also possible for you to get struck by lightning and shocked and even killed while taking a shower since the lightning can travel through the water and pipes into your shower.

So avoid taking a shower during the lightning storm as it's just not worth the risk.
