Why do gas cans always leak?

What is with these new gas cans that make the new gas cans leak all the time when trying to fill a fuel tank up?

Every time I try to refill my lawn mower with gas I spill half the expensive gasoline.

New gas cans are fitted with gas spouts that are supposed to conserve resources and are a result of EPA regulations.

But it's dumb since more gas leaks out of those new gas spouts which it never really did on the old gas cans and gas spouts so half of the gasoline ends up getting spilled and pollutes the environment plus wastes expensive gasoline.

It's just in the way the gasoline can spouts are designed that causes them to leak and they need to fix the problem.

What I do is just take the spout off and then just pour the gasoline through a funnel straight into the gas tank that I'm filling and I avoid spilling gasoline plus it fills the gasoline tank up faster that way.

Also look on ebay and you may be able to find the old style gas can spouts that you can use with your newer gas can to avoid gasoline spillage.
