What happens when you burn the wet wood will depend on where you're burning the wet wood.

If you're burning it in a wood pile outside or in a fire pit then the wet wood will be hard to get lit on fire and likely just sit there and smolder and cause a lot of smoke in the air.

If you try to burn wet and not fully seasoned and dried out firewood in your wood stove then it won't put out enough heat or be very hard to get lit and if it does catch on fire in the wood stove you risk building up a lot of creosote in your chimney which if not cleaned out could cause a chimney fire and could burn your house down.

Never burn wet wood in a wood stove or fireplace and always make sure you use good seasoned firewood that is seasoned a minimum of 6 months after it's been cut and split but if you can let the firewood sit and season for a year or more then the firewood will dry out and season better and burn much better in your fireplace or wood stove and give you better heat output.
