Where can I recycle my computer monitor?

I have an old LCD monitor that died on me a few months ago and I now have a new LED monitor but the trash service doesn't take the computer monitors since they glance through our trash here and remove any electronics before dumping the trash.

I have the lCD monitor sitting in the garage and wondering what I can do with the old LCD computer monitor and where I can take it for recycling?

Check around your area to see if there's any electronic stores or computer stores or computer repair places around.

I've taken a computer monitor and actually sold it for a few dollars to a computer repair place where they took some parts off of it and recycled the rest.

Some people even on Craigslist look for old electronics to recycle and there might be someone near you that would pick up the old monitor to recycle for free.

Another thing you could do is check for a local scrap metal yard around you that may buy old electronics or you can even offer it to them for free if you really want to get rid of it.
