Can newborn babies sleep in a crib?

Do babies need to sleep in a bassinet when they're newborn or can a newborn safely sleep in a crib?

Newborn babies can safely sleep in a crib as long as you don't place blankets or toys or anything else in the crib with the baby that could cause them to suffocate should their mouth get against the soft objects.

Although babies tend to sleep much better in a bassinet until they're at least 4 months of age or until they outgrow the bassinet since they'll be cozier in a much smaller space.

But the newborn baby can safely sleep in a crib if you want them too.

Just be sure to keep the crib in your room until the baby is at least 6 months of age to Reduce SIDS and so that you can keep an eye on the baby better.

It's much better though to keep the baby in your room until 1 year of age if possible but at 6 months of age you can move the baby to their own room if you want too.

But for me I would keep my baby in my room with me until 1 year of age so I can keep my eye close on them.
