Manufactures do recommend that you wash your new sheets before you put them on your bed for the first time.
But I've never followed that rule before since I figure they're probably clean enough when new.
So you don't have to wash the new sheets before first use but you can if you want too.
Although I've read on some sheets that if you wash them before use they'll feel better to you and some excess dye will be removed from the sheets.
