A faulty Map Sensor can indeed cause your cars engine to stall because when the Map Sensor Is faulty it can mislead the cars computer or PCM into thinking that your cars engine is under a lesser or even greater load than the engine really is.
When the Map Sensor is faulty the computer might not know that your cars engine is idling and send the engine either too much or not enough fuel which can cause the cars engine to stall.
