The only student loan that cannot be removed from a persons credit report until fully paid off is a Perkins loan.

The Perkins loan is allowed to stay on your credit report until it's fully paid off.

Other Student loans have to be removed from your credit report after 7 years of being in default.

After 7 years the student loan must be removed from your credit report even though the Federal Student loans can be collected forever they have to remove the collection report from your credit report once 7 years have passed.

Keep in mind too that if you can get into a payment plan for the student loans it will work out better for you and your credit and after 20 to 25 years of making student loan payments you can have the student loan forgiven.
