Yes if you're filing as an individual on your income taxes then yes your social security number would be the same as a Tax identification number.
So if the tax form calls for a tax identification number and you're not a business then you should enter your social security number in the Tax ID Number field.
If you're filing taxes as a business then the Tax Identification number would be an Employee ID Number or EID also known as TIN.
