An animator typically works normal office hours as any other regular office worker.
Typical hours that an animator works per week are from 35 to 40 hours per week but sometimes if they need to meet a deadline they could be required to work additional overtime hours to complete the animation on time.
Animation requires a lot of concentration and long hours sitting in front of a computer or drawing board depending on what part of the animation you're working on.
So if you want to become an animator you need a lot of patience and enjoy art and/or working long hours on the computer doing the animation.
