An earlobe piercing takes 6 weeks to fully heal up and an ear cartilage piercing takes 12 weeks to fully heal.
So if you plan to put new earrings on your ears after the piercing you need to wait for the healing process to fully be done.
And after you've had your ears pierced do not go more than 24 hours without wearing earrings for the first 6 months after your earlobes heal otherwise your piercing will close up.
