A Wifi connection is needed to watch movies on the Fire Stick since the Fire Stick does not have an Ethernet port which requires a Wifi connection to connect the Fire Stick to the internet.
You also need at least an internet download speed of 3 Mbps to stream the movies through the Fire Stick without getting buffering or other problems.
