Dead birds should not be picked up by bare hands and if you do need to move a dead bird you should use a shovel or have gloves on.
Diseases that dead birds can carry and pass on to Humans are, Salmonella, Lyme Disease, Lice and Mites, Avian Pox, Aspergillosis and Trichomoniasis.
Dead birds and even live birds can give you lung diseases as well so if you have a live bird and clean out the bird cages always wear a mask when cleaning the bird cage out.
