I have 50 scrap refrigerator compressors sitting in my garage.

I'm thinking of cutting them open to remove the copper wire.

But is it worth the time cutting the fridge compressors open?

How many lbs of copper can I get out of one compressor?

I usually get at least 2 pounds of copper out of each fridge compressor.

Air conditioner compressors usually yield up to 4 to 5 lbs of scrap copper per compressor.

With scrap copper prices being down right now its best to extract the scrap copper and hoard it until prices go up.

That's what I'm doing. I'm hoarding my scrap copper in hopes of better prices someday
