When an employer pulls a background check on the potential employee that has applied for a job with the company, the employer looks for things such as your education, employment history, references and civil records.

An employer also looks at the background check to determine if you have any criminal records to see if you've been arrested or convicted of anything.

The company pulls background checks to be sure that you're a good and safe employee for the job.
