How long before you are no longer contagious with the flu?

For both adults and children you're contagious for up to 7 days when you have the flu.

In some cases children can continue to be contagious for up to 10 days.

It's recommend that you wait a few days after the flu has gone away to be sure you're no longer infectious with the flu before returning to work or sending your child back to school.
