Low sodium levels in a persons blood can be caused by many things but the most common cause of someones low sodium levels in their blood are caused by kidney failure,heart failure,use of diuretics and cirrhosis.

Low sodium levels in your blood can also be caused by consuming too much liquids in short period of time.

When your sodium levels in your blood are too low the medical term for it is called hyponatremia.
