How long should I keep the E collar on my dog after neutering?

After neutering a dog or cat you should have them wear the E collar to keep them restricted from scratching anything from the surgery for 14 days minimum.

Do not let the dog or cat go without the E collar sooner than 14 days. They must wear the E collar for 14 days to allow the area where the surgery was to heal.

I want to add to the other answer that if you do need to remove the E collar from your dog or cat so they can eat more comfortably then do make sure that after the dog or cat finishes eating you should put the E Collar back on your pet right away.
