At 1 year of age your 1 year old toddler should be able to speak 2 simple words.
Usually those words will be ma-ma or da-da. The ma-ma will mean mom and the da-da will mean dad.
They might also start saying things such as bubba when they're referring to their brother if they have a brother or sis if they have a sister.
That's what my nephew would call his brother when he was learning to speak at 1 year of age he would call his brother bubba.
By 2 years of age they will be able to put two words together and say things such as want milk or something else.
And by 2 years old your toddler should be able to say between 50 to 75 words.
It can vary because each toddler is different and can start to speak different words and have a different vocabulary than others.
