Yikes you need to wait a bit before logging in again? Twitter account locked

Question

I was on twitter and accidentally logged out of my account and tried to log back in again and darn twitter locked my account?
 

What actually does it accomplish for twitter to lock out accounts for an hour?

Your account will be fine. It happens to me too. When I log out though, most times I don't log back in until I get back from work though, unless it's during a weekend.

But an hour is a bit too long to have someone wait before logging back in.

Maybe 10 minutes at the most is what they should set it at.
