You don't need full coverage insurance on your car to drive for Uber but you do need to be insured with at least liability insurance to be an Uber Driver.
Uber also provides supplemental insurance coverage as long as the Uber app is on in your car.
When the Uber app is off your own insurance will take care of anything needed should you get into a car accident when driving for Uber.
