Yes you can get scammed with a cashiers check. A lot of scammers will send you fake cashiers check and some will go to great lengths to make the cashiers check look legitimate when it's not really a legitimate check.
If you can't find legitimate information on the check about the issuing bank through online searches then it's a fake cashier check.
And especially if someone you don't know sends you a cashiers check from overseas then it's a fake check.
